French caviar producer Caviar de Neuvic is reaching a new milestone in its development with a fundraising round. The deal financed, among other things, the acquisition of two fish farms in the Pyrénées-Orientales and a stock of 150 tonnes of sturgeon. In the long run, the company aims to bring its production capacity up to nearly 22 tonnes.
01/09/2026 Process AlimentaireFounded in 2011 by Laurent Deverlanges, Caviar de Neuvic is continuing its development and strengthening its production capabilities. Based in Neuvic-sur-l'Isle, in the Dordogne region, the company controls the entire chain, from the hatchery through to the processing and packaging of caviar.
In a fast-growing global market largely dominated by Chinese producers, the company intends to reach a new industrial milestone. Caviar de Neuvic has acquired two fish farms located in the Pyrénées-Orientales from the Aqualande group. The deal also includes the acquisition, from the Spanish company Caviar Pirinea, of a stock of 150 tonnes of sturgeon. With these new capacities, the French producer is ultimately aiming for production of close to 22 tonnes of caviar.
To carry out this deal, Caviar de Neuvic brought in financial and private investors, both long-standing and new, as part of a fundraising round of around twelve million euros. Messis Finance supported the company in its discussions with the Aqualande group as well as in structuring and implementing the financing.
This deal is part of a long-term development strategy for the company, which aims to consolidate its position in the French market while strengthening its production capacity.
Built around an integrated model, Caviar de Neuvic also emphasizes a positioning centered on environmental issues. Having become a "Société à Mission" (a French purpose-driven company status) in 2021, the company obtained B Corp certification in 2023, a world first for a caviar producer.
"We have always chosen to invest for the long term. This vision has now led us to take a new step forward with the acquisition of two fish farms which, in addition to supporting our development, will allow us to plan ahead for global warming. With sites fed by resurgence water, naturally stable between 17 and 18 degrees, we offer sturgeon an ideal environment and protect them from periods of intense heat. More than an investment, this project is a commitment to the future: to our employees, our sturgeon, our partners, and to an increasingly ambitious and sustainable French production sector," said Laurent Deverlanges, the founder.
