Caviar House & Prunier is an iconic fine-food brand specialising in the production and distribution of caviar and smoked salmon and is one of the world's leading caviar pioneers. The group, formed in 2004 through the merger of Caviar House and Prunier, led by the collaboration between Peter G. Rebeiz, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Bergé and Jean-Francis Bretelle. Today, it comprises three prime and emblematic brands: Prunier, Caviar House and Balik, and promotes the art of French caviar, which embodies experiential luxury throughout the world.

A century-old emblematic brand and a pioneer of French gastronomy

 

Prunier, founded in 1872 in Paris by Emile Prunier, is an emblematic and forward-thinking century-old brand, which created its first Oyster and Champagne bar in 1872 (in Paris) and went on to establish the world's first and oldest caviar farm in France during the 1990s. Prunier is today the standard-bearer of French caviar and gastronomic art de vivre worldwide.

 

Caviar House, a world reference in caviar trading since its foundation in the 1950s, is the largest importer of Iranian caviar globally and the brand is recognised universally for its quality, presence in major airports, and its prestigious and innovative selections of caviar. 

 

Balik, founded in 1978, is universally considered the ultimate reference for fine smoked salmon. It created its first smokehouse in 1978 in the Swiss alpine foothills, built by the grandson of the last master smokehouse operator for Tsar Nicholas II at the Imperial Court of Russia. 

Caviar House & Prunier, with its portfolio of iconic and prestigious brands, some close to 150 years old, is today an iconic player in the global gastronomy and world of fine foods intertwined with the world of fashion through the implication of Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent and their passion for fine living, fashion and culture.

 

The group is a historic and vertically integrated brand controlling the entire value chain, from production to distribution: the group manufactures more than 75.000 tins of caviar per year in France and over 350 tons of unique farm-raised salmon. With 40 points of sale in Europe and Asia, including the famous Prunier restaurant on Avenue Victor Hugo in Paris, the iconic flagship store on Piccadilly in London, its historical store and restaurant Rue du Rhône in Geneva and its strong network of franchisees, the group has the largest retail distribution footprint globally.
